This was soo good Janet. So full of insight and thought. I so love hearing what the Lord is teaching and impressing on so many different hearts. What an absolute wealth of wisdom there is when you put it altogether. You have touched on a really hard issue for me and that is dealing with things that are soo wrong and soo incrediably unfair. I liked the part when you are saying to release and recieve instead of grabbing and controlling. This sounds like a great book. Thanks for sharing all this. Blessings to you, Debbie

Amen! I have a favorite prayer I pray when I feel I am bumping up against a wall in my physical or spiritual life. It is that God would tear down every wall that has raised itself up against the knowledge of Him, and His will and truth in my life. Sometimes I find that it isn't a wall but a stopsign or a yield sign, and I am to wait or stop moving altogether for a while...to be still and just know that He is God.

Hi Janet,
So glad that I hopped over to your blog today! Your post today really spoke to me heart! I have been struggling so hard lately. I am going to school to become a nurse which I KNOW is the direction that God has called me to. I have been struggling with one of my classes - I try to do everything perfectly so that I can get into the Nursing Program in the Spring. It is a constant battle to let it all go and remember daily that it is not MY control - I am doing my part to the best of my ability. I need to learn to let go and LET GOD now and stop striving so hard and worrying.
God spoke through your message today - directly to my heart! I need to remember WHO I am doing this all for! If it is HIS Will - He will help me achieve it!

That is a funny expression. My mom was just full of those old sayings. This generation doesn't use them much, but some of them are interesting to say the least!

Have a good Sunday. I am home from church today nursing a migraine,..but I know the Lord is with me and will bring me through it....sucessfully,..in His timing.

God can bring good from anything and everything.

Wow...it seems all my paths lead to Genesis this month! The sermons at my church and the bible study I'm doing, "Covenant" are all from the book of Genesis. You are right, it is a great book of the bible. Thank you for sharing your insight on Noah waiting for God to speak before acting. It seems I am perpetually learning how to do that myself.

I started to read Genesis recently too... it is amazing. Even when Eve looked at the forbiden fruit, and ate it. I bet it still uplies to us. We see something that looks nice and we think it gives us wisdom. Not fully understanding that it brings death to our soul when we touch it or bring it into our life... We are still enchanted by the evil one's message. That was very intersting about Noah. I didnt catch that when reading it earlier... thanks.

I love the hymn "How Great Thou Art", it is one of my favorites...So Powerful!

And as you said there are modern songs that bring our hearts closer to Him too. I love praise music, but I treasure the old hymns.

I also love the beauty of God's creation. And I feel a call to worship Him when I look on all the beauty in this world. And i just know Heaven will be even more glorious.

We just got back from Missouri and the trees were so pretty. I posted a poem and also a previous post with the pictures. Visit if you get a chance.

When you quoted the Chris Tomlin song, words from Psalm 147 came to mind. I love how you traced the similarities from song to song to psalm - it really is amazing how all of us (God's children) are connected by our connection to Him - that ever since Adam and Eve walked with God in the evenings, we are all walking with God and worshiping Him in our different but very similar ways! No matter how geography or time separates us, we are all one in Him, so it is no wonder that we share the same awe of His greatness and express it in ways that look and sound so much alike.

God's greatness certainly does make me feel tiny, but this connection amongst His people and His Godhead make me feel like a part of something so much bigger!

Ohh my...where do I begin? I'm so glad that you re-shared this post for Sunday Favorites, my friend! It really touched my heart...I was one of those kids that had really rough teen years! I ran away from home when I was just 15 yrs. old to San Francisco, CA. It was a horrible experience...a young girl out on the streets in such a big city! Too many atrocities to speak about here but I nearly lost my life out there! God protected me...and I owe my life to Him! I know that I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the prayers and interceding of my family...especially my grandparents! I will tell you this...it wasn't unusual to find children on the streets as young as 8 and 9 yrs. old...it was just heartbreaking! Because of my experiences, God has led me to pray so many times for our troubled teens...whatever the situation!!! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us and a reminder to be in prayer for all of our children!!! I wouldn't be here without those prayers...that's for certain!!!

Janet, I relate to your experience...when I see the commercials that ask us to give to the children of third world countries, as they show them with boney little bodies covered with flies, I can't believe its real, but I know it is. There was a movie about the selling of American girls and women as sex slaves...that moved my heart, and I pray for them daily...I pray that there won't be another one...but I now there will be...the world's sinful heart is beyond my comprehension...so I pray. I was watching Joyce Meyer one morning as she showed video coverage of her visit to Cambodia. She said that she couldn't believe it til she saw it, and touched the arms of the children, looked into their lost faces, and then she made a committment to build orphanages for them., and she was asking her viewers to help her. I'm sure some were led to give to this cause, but I wondered how many more would had they gone with her to see the children in person. Are we so used to seeing horror on television in the form of a movie that we can't distinguish reality anymore? So many children being exploited and abused...it will only end when our Lord returns to end it...so I pray, "Come, Lord Jesus".

Janet, This is such a heart touching post, I too have been concerned for our teens, when I look at them there seems to be such a blank look on their faces, i am praying for them too. Thank you for reminding all of us of theses seemingly forgotten children.

This was a REALLY good post and really touched my heart. I have had that same occurence happen to me before where my heart just didn't seem to be responding as it should be to something TERRIBLE. I have prayed at those times (as you did with a wonderful answer from Him) for Him to give me His heart for that situation. It was long before mine was overwhelmed.
